Mechanical plunger dosing pump uses positive displacement action moving the piston-plunger mechanism in a repeated back and forth motion coupled to fixed ratio gearbox which is driven by the motor in a reciprocating motion generating a suction vacuum inside the head chamber lifting the inlet valve to draw chemical into dosing head cavity the forward motion compresses against the chemical discharging the fluid through the outlet discharge valve, the flow output is dependent on two factors the piston size and stroke length where the flow rate remains linear across the pumps dosage scale retaining a consistent flow tolerance and accuracy generally unaffected by chemical viscosity and working pressure fluctuations. The key benefits offered by plunger dosing pumps is their ability dose at high pressures and high flow rates being more effective due to their low dependency on back pressure delivering repeatable precision and performance.

Mechanical piston metering pump use a fixed ratio gearbox driven by the motor in a reciprocating positive displacement action moving the spring-return piston-plunger mechanism in repeated back and forth motions creating a vacuum (suction phase) opening the inlet valve to draw fluid into dosing head chamber then in the forward motion (compression phase) open the outlet valve to discharge the fluid from the dosing head, the volume of fluid displaced depends on the size of the piston-plunger and the adjustment of the stroke length respectively being linear and throughout the dosage scale of the pump. There are a number of applications where piston metering pumps are preferred and more effective due to their low dependency on back pressure to maintain precision and performance regardless of working conditions, they can handle high viscosity chemicals operate more efficiently at high pressures including higher flow rates with repeatable precision.
