Conductivity Controllers
Conductivity controller monitors and maintains total dissolved solids (TDS) within critical
process parameters and being an inferred measurement the number of control applications conductivity is used is quite diverse
and extensive due to it's reliability accuracy and low maintenance requirements, often utilised on cooling towers and
industrial boilers as a conductivity bleed system they are also used on CIP systems requiring tight process control and
operating effectiveness. Conductivity controllers measure TDS levels in microsiemens with the extensive software
functionality offering process-specific programming for many industrial applications with internet connectivity access
for real-time monitoring and system management.
Conductivity Measurement
Conductivity also know as electrical conductivity (EC) is the measurement of electrical conductance
of all dissolved ionic species within a measured solution by determining its ability to conduct electricity through the measurement resistance
of the solution between the conductivity electrode surfaces, used routinely in many industrial and environmental applications
as a fast and inexpensive reliable way of measuring the ionic content in a solution in many cases linked to the total
dissolved solids (T.D.S) content in a solution. The electrical resistance measured by the conductivity probe immersed in
the water sample calculates the total dissolved solids and displayed in microsiemens by the conductivity controller.
Conductivity
electrodes and probes are fairly low maintenance although they do require periodic cleaning to wash away solids that slowly accumulate
on the electrodes surface they provide an effective and reliable source of precise measurement with exceptional
performance over many years.
Conductivity Instruments
A conductivity instrument analyses the electrical conductance resistance measured
by the conductivity probe immersed in a liquid with the readings displayed on the instruments screen in microsiemens
determining the conductivity level in the system often linked to total dissolved solids, the instruments software functionality
can be configured for process-specific operational demands ensuring levels remain within critical parameters vital in
multiple industrial water treatment applications that depend on consistent TDS levels as a general measure
of the water quality.

Conductivity Bleed Systems For Cooling Towers
The conductivity controller monitors the electrical conductance of the
cooling tower water when the conductivity (TDS) level exceeds the desired set point the controller activates a
bleed cycle process by operating a solenoid valve to drain highly conductive water from the cooling tower, as
the water level drops fresh make-up water flows into the tower diluting the TDS concentration in the cooling tower until
the conductivity returns to normal operational levels the controller then shuts down the bleed process.
