Combination pH Electrodes
 
Combination pH electrode comprises of two main elements a glass sensing membrane electrode and reference electrode working together in a single unit measuring the hydrogen ion activity in an aqueous solution to determine it's acidity or alkalinity hence the term combination electrode, by measuring the voltage difference between the pH sensitive glass membrane and reference electrode which provides a known stable reference potential completing the electrical millivolt circuit proportional to the pH measurement value.
 
Dependent on the intended application electrodes are manufactured in various shaft materials: - Glass Electrodes - Polycarbonate Electrodes - Epoxy Electrodes 
 

Single Junction pH Eelectrodes
 
Single junction pH electrodes are typically known to deliver fast and accurate response times due to the reference electrode's junction being made of a porous material and therefore in direct contact with the liquid sample allowing the reference electrolyte to directly interact with the solution being measured, the electrodes simple functionality design delivers repeatable measurement results and can be completely sterilised when cleaned eliminating any contamination occurring between measurement applications.

Double Junction pH Eelectrodes
 
Double junction pH electrodes utilizes two chambers with a barrier in between to  isolate the reference electrode being in direct contact with the liquid sample minimizing the risk of sample-induced contamination and prolonging the electrodes lifespan especially in challenging samples containing heavy metals, despite isolating the reference electrode solution the double junction design maintains electrical connection between both the sample solution and reference electrode allowing highly accurate and consistent pH measurements.
 

 pH Probe
 
The term pH probe is often referred to as a pH electrode however probes are generally designed as a complete device often incorporating additional components such as a temperature sensor and housing effectively the entire assembly to determine the acidity or alkalinity of the sample solution.
 

 pH Sensor
 
The phrase pH senor refers to either an electrode, probe or device used to determine the acidity or alkalinity of a sample solution for pH measurement.
