Conductivity probe for high temperature applications with accurate readings thoughout the conductivity range, designed for boilers and steam condensate return systems where high pressure and high temperature is present. Due to the type of environments these probes are installed it is recommended isolation valves are fitted for maintenance and servicing of the conductivity probe.
Measurement of Conductivity Cell
Conductivity is ability of a solution to conduct an electric current between two electrodes
across the surface area or distance between the cell electrodes by the resistance of the measured solution, the level of concentration
of dissolved ionic species plus weak and strong electrolytes change the electrical current therefore an high concentration of ions
in the solution will result in a fast current and higher conductivity values and a slower electrical current indicates lower concentration
of ions are present in the solution indicating lower conductivity values.
Conductivity systems are used routinely in many industrial
water treatment and environmental applications as a fast and inexpensive reliable way of measuring the total dissolved solids (T.D.S)
content in a solution, applications include public water supplies, irrigation systems, brewing industry, industrial boilers, wastewater
and cooling tower systems.
All our conductivity controllers incorporate control relays as well as a (0) 4-20mA signal. Depending
on which model of controller - these can be used to control a piece of control equipment such as a pump or solenoid valve. Often these
pieces of control equipment can be controlled proportionally that is - causing the device to speed up, or dose faster / slower depending
on the deviation from the desired set-point.
